Merry Christmas

Well, my friends, it has been a busy month. I have a new calling in the ward that has certainly taken some time to get my head around. I really enjoyed teaching the YSA sunday school and was very sad to go. I am sure they miss the after class chocolates. I feel like I haven't seen you all in a long time! I hope you guys have a great Christmas. It has come up very quickly I hope you are all organised. I also hope you all get spoilt! I love this time of year, I love the christmas carols in sacrament meeting. I have some photo's from the overnighter that i have been meaning to post so i'll put them on now. Thanks to all who have supported the activities this year, it has been nice getting to know you all... yeah ok, these photo's are dodgy. You can thank photographer Aaron for that, he was too busy cheating to take photo's I guess!

Hope you all enjoyed the holidays (For you uni goers) and have a great week!

New Time

The time for the activity on Saturday has been changed to 1 pm. This is due to the Baptism that will be at devonport Chapel at 9. There are 2 girls getting baptized, Makayla and Naomi. Naomi is a YSA and we will all be there to support her (and her sister) so all are welcome to come.

Remember to bring camera's and the leads to your camera's for the activity.

Maybe i should offer chocolate incentives/bribes to read the blog..freebee's on some posts do you think that would work?

Welcome to a new month

Hello hello,
Just putting on the 'happenings'.

On the 27th of this month there is an activity in Launceston, Spicks and Specks. At the Chapel at 7pm.

In July we will have another Pot Luck dinner at our home and CES fireside.

There are no activities penciled in for July due to exams and Uni commitments. If any of you want any unofficial things announced on here i am more than happy to add them. A big thank you to Ben for the use of his land from our fire side, and Gemma who organized it! T'was good! Hope you are all having a good week.

Directions are...

Before you cross the Deloraine bridge into the Del-Rock City Centre - Hang a left towards meander and keep following the road until you get to an intersection where Meander is straight ahead yet your road turns to the left. Go to Meander. Once in Meander keep following the road along, straight through and once you hit the gravel road keep going to you can go any further. then take the split rocks track but stay on the main wide path (walking once parked) and you'll hit the huntsmans hideaway.

So if this confuses you like it does me blame DALE! We will hopefully have some reception- if you need us call 0408 369 343, we should be there early.

OK OK!

Now lookie here you guys, I have only lived in tassie for almost 2 years and could count on two hands how many times I have been to Launceston ok! I'll be sure to update my McDonalds whereabouts knowledge now though ok! I was born in Vic, then lived in Sydney for 16 years, then Brisbane for a few but I do believe...yes here it comes...Tassie is the best by far! I love it.

Sunday, May 11, 2008

Ok, didn't realize there were 3 Macca's in Launy. Lets go to South Launceston (the one by the highway not far down from the hospital, have i got it right?) That is the only one I knew of!

UPDATE

Well, the general consensus today in YSA was that McCafe would be a better option than Gelato. This wasn't unanimous, however certainly the most popular :) So, looks as though after the performance we are all meeting at Launceston McDonalds for some dessert. Mmmm...do like hot chocolate and cake. So, please spread the word. All are welcome. I am very excited, will be dragging my brother along who just came off his mission last week, so haven't seen him for 2 years. The fireside on Thursday too, you lucky people that live in Launceston and don't have to travel!
There will be a stake activity at the end of the month, keep watching the blog for details. Will be good. (Ofcourse, I have to say that) So, my friends, until Wednesday... See you then.
P.S. Hope you were good to your mothers today.
P.P.S. Thanks for those directions anyway Collette.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008

So...looks as though after the Young ambassadors performance on Wednesday we will be heading to Gelato. Collette, can you comment on here and tell me where exactly that is! Thanks. As for updates, I will get clarification on our next activity's date, we do know that it is a fire side, as in beside a fire. It will be GOOD! Smores...hot chocolate...warm fire. More to come. It was lovely to have 20 of you turn up to our Pot Luck on Sunday and thankyou for all the yummy food! We had so much! Here is my words for this week.
Your mind is a garden; Is it cultivated, or does it grow wild? Read Mosiah Ch 4 verse 30. (and have a wonderful week)

Young Ambassadors

You may have all heard the "Young Ambassadors" are performing at the Princess Theatre in Launceston on the 14th of May. This is at 7:30pm and you can get tickets from your ward bishopric. There is also a YSA fireside by the "Young Ambassadors" at Launceston Chapel on the thursday night, the 15th May.

Devonport ward is planning to go out for dessert after the Wednesday night performance (Somewhere in Launy) and hope everyone will join us! So, for those who live there, any idea's on a venue? I am not sure what will be open mid week or what time the performance will finish but we'll see what we can some up with.

Remember also in May the Pot luck dinner will be on the 4th May, in our home.

Hobart goers...

Well, this week there is nothing for me to post...no news, no activities. Boring really. So, I though I would say that I hope all of you who are going to Hobart; party lots, sleep none, eat too much, find a date :), and have a WONDERFUL time. I'll be here, changing nappies, cooking, cleaning, not sleeping and trying not to hide in the cupboard from the kids! NO SPEEDING, wear you seatbelts, clean your teeth...ok, i'll stop now. Have fun, send me pics when you get home and i'll add them.

Postponed

The Debate that was to be held this month will now be held in July. That gives you more time to decide whether you are going or not, more time to decide what to wear and for those who have to talk more time to prepare. I;m sure there are no complaints ;)

Monday, April 7, 2008

Goodmorning goodmorning...and it is indeed a good one. Beautiful blue skies, no wind and half of my children are at school...ah the peace. So, it gives me time to update the blog. The activity that was planned for the 26th of this month has been cancelled. Please let any others know (like the boys who don't look at blogs).

We watched a CES fireside on Sunday night and many of us heard from our beloved Ant..oh sorry Aunt and the lovely chior that sung for us! Ahem, Collette you really did like them. We listened to a talk that encouraged you to....wait for it....this will shock you...GET MARRIED! Really though I did think there were a number of things that were presented were very relevant so I hope everyone has given it some thought.

Thankyou thankyou thankyou for all who contributed to the food, those who didn't come surely missed out, the desserts especially were fabulous.

The next CES fireside and pot luck will be on the 4th May and will be held at our home. Please Email for the addy ajwoolley@aapt.net.au I am thinking maybe of starting at 5, would people prefer it to start earlier? Especially those who have to travel. Please comment to let me know. (For those who haven't done that before you just click on the 'comment' link below the post)

For now I think that is all. I'll get that photo we took and add it soon. Have a wonderful week.

Another Activity Update...

Remember 6th April, CES fireside and pot luck dinner at the Whitchurch home.

On the 18th of April there is a debate that you YSA can be a part of. There will be political leaders there and this is certainly a good opportunty to be heard and recognised as not only members of the community but as members of the church also. This will be held in Hobart. More info to follow.

Also to be held in Hobart is a YSA overnighter at the Menzie home in the Huon. This will be held on the 25th April. You are all invited.

26th April is our next Stake Activity, held at Devonport Chapel.

The 'Young' Us.

Well, seeing as all you guys might not know us I thought i'd put a pic on here of when we were 'young' and still in young adults. Yes, Aaron still had no hair and I look an awful lot more tired nowadays...hence the 'young' photo and not an 'old' one. And for the record, if I wasn't married,
I'd still be in YSA, if Aaron wasn't...He would have outaged us youngies and joined the Single Adults...So old!

Special Fireside!

We have had notification of a historical broadcast to be held at 7:00pm this Sunday the 16th of March 2008. Elder David A Bednar, of the Quorum of the Twelve, will giving his address live from Sydney, and it will be relayed throughout Australia via the satellite network. Instruction has been given from the area office that there will be no recording of the historic broadcast, as such all members through out the Devonport Stake will be invited to the Stake Centre this Sunday night at 7:00pm. The Stake President has seen it necessary to cancel the world wide training meeting scheduled for this Saturday; this will be shown at a latter time.

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

April is starting to look busy, here is what we know:
6th- CES Fireside and Pot luck dinner held at Whitchurch home. If you need the address email me. (I don't want to put addy's on here) Email is ajwoolley@aapt.net.au

20th- Sunday sessions of conference

So keep these days in mind in amongst all those hot dates you have planned for next month ;)

The computer is really playing up thismorning so I will post these two photo's that will actually work. Devonport Ward YSA went on a hike to Black Bluff on Saturday (and I am still feeling the aches and pains from it). It was beautiful at the top and we had a good time. I'll post the rest when I can upload them. Launy, if you want your ward activity photo's posted on here, email them to me at ajwoolley@aapt.net.au Let's make this blog interesting!
